The Rock Barn

Based in Nelson County, Virginia, The Rock Barn is a whole animal butchery led by Chef Ben Thompson. They strive to elevate the craft of butchering and to be good representatives of the animals they process and the farmers who raise them. The Rock Barn offers a wide range of pork products from fresh cuts and ground meat to sausages and smokehouse items including a variety of bacons and hams. Ivy Provisions is proud to offer a full stock of fresh and frozen Rock Barn products, as well as Porkshare pick-up in the shop.

We're also fortunate to engage in culinary collaborations with The Rock Barn. Ivy Provisions Chef Tommy Lasley frequently works with Thompson on special menu items and food offerings at off-site events and festivals. Once a month, we host Barn & Brew in the shop with The Rock Barn and a select local brewery where we offer complimentary pork and beer (or sometimes cider) tastings. Finally, you can find Ivy Provisions and The Rock Barn next to each other at the Charlottesville City Market every Saturday morning during the market season.
